Leica SP-8 Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope

This Leica TCS SP8 X is housed in the Franceschi Microscopy and Imaging Center in Abelson Hall, RM 121. It is equipped with the following:

  • Picosecond Pulsed 405nm Diode
  • Tunable Pulsed White Light Laser 470nm to 670nm (up to 8 excitation lines can be used)

Detectors:

  • 2 Lieca HyD detectors
  • 2 PMTs
    • The confocal detectors and PMTs have adjustable band pass capabilities
  • 1 transmitted light PMT

Fluoro-Filtercubes:

  • I3: emission BP 450nm-490nm
  • N2.1: emission BP 510nm-560nm
  • A: emission BP 340nm-380nm

Transmitted Light:  Bright Field

Incident Light:   Fluorescence

This Leica SP5 is is housed in Dr. Kirchoff’s lab in Clark Hall. It is equipped with the following:

Zeiss LSM 510 META

The Zeiss 510 META is an inverted confocal laser scanning microscope. It has two main PMTs to be used in conjuction with beam splitters as well as a META spectral detector.

The available laser lines are:

  • Argon – 458, 477, 488, 514
  • HeNe – 543 and 633
  • Diode – 405

The available lenses are:

  • Plan-Neofluor 10x/0.3
  • LCI Plan-Neofluor 25x/10.8 Imm. Kor.
